One last final massive update. OTT tune got their CARB approval making it the only NA tune for the Tacoma that is 100% CARB approved and will pass any emissions test that is now checking for a modified ECU. Big shout out to @JustDSM and the team for working hard on getting us tuned Tacoma users legal.
So I bought a 2 day pass professional to TIS. I can login in to TIS via the website and when searching for TSBs, the latest I can find is the one mentioning 04b04. But nothing newer. From within Techstream, I click on the Update > yes link, and it opens a window with a login screen for TIS. It asks me to select user type. TTEN, TMS, Dealer.. etc.
Hey SMS- I have an '05 with the 4-cylinder and 218K miles and just this last week had exactly the same problem. The pipe is 100% molded plastic and bolts with a 2-bolt flange to the back of the thermostat housing, runs straight back alongside the block, then turns left (toward the left side of the truck) and ends with a bolted flange and 2 water hose outlets, 1 larger one for the cabin heater ...
Are any of the Cold Air Intakes, such as K&N or similar, legal to use in the Smog Test State of California? Do they change the ability of the 2021V-6 to pass a Smog Test?
I am ordering parts online and some specify with by-pass tube on housing, some with by-pass tube on Driver's End of Pump, some without by-pass tube. Does anyone know how to tell which my truck has without taking the whole timing cover off and everything? I have a 2002 3.4 v6 4x4 with a manual transmission.
How else can I test and adjust the Load sensing Proportioning and By-Pass Valve (LSP & BV)? (By adjust I mean the process without the SST, not the actual physical adjustments - I know how to do that from reading the FSM). The spec states 636 ± 71 psi on the rear brakes with the Rear axle load (1,874 lb). Note: these specs are for 4x4.
