"Though there are a number of different campuses of The Ohio State University, the large campus that most people not familiar with ASU think about is the Columbus Campus. This campus offers a liberal arts college feeling with many with many buildings, students, staff, faculty, and resources. Similar to many other large campuses or schools across the country, it feels like it is always under construction as new buildings, athletic facilities, and residence halls are built each year. As Ohio State is one of the largest public universities in the country, there is something for everyone whether in-person or online.\n\nAt Ohio State, every student has the potential to feel connected with resources and it there is certainly always something happening whether at the Ohio Union, at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC), or in the residence halls or any of the athletics facilities including the Horseshoe (Ohio Stadium). More than 14,000 students live on-campus, and the majority of about 67,000 Ohio State students take courses on the Columbus Campus. While campus resources are easily located in the Ohio Union and Lincoln Tower, many other buildings across the Columbus Campus have academic offices or other student services. The Ohio State staff, faculty, and partners certainly try to do everything they can to support all of the students to ensure they are set up to succeed at Ohio State.\n\nOriginally founded as only a fraction of the Columbus Campus of today in 1870, the campus has grown by leaps and bounds over the years. Even a student who graduated just over 20 years ago, I am surprised in what the campus looks like today. In fact, I just visited campus for the first time in many years last month and barely recognize parts of campus. Even now, big construction projects include the Mirror Lake District Renovation, North Residential District Renewal, and multi-phase William Oxley Thompson Library Renovation. In fact, as of 2022, there were more than 1400 current construction projects in the works across all Ohio State campuses.\n\nAs the campus continues to grow, the number of buildings on campus continue to increase. In addition to more commonly visited areas like the Oval, the Ohio Union, and the RPAC, there is the Thompson Library and Ohio Stadium. There is also the Wexner Center for the Arts, the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, the Orton Geological Museum, Mirror Lake, the Arne Slettebak Planetarium, Buckeye Grove, the Schottenstein Center, and so many other spots. My regular places to have visited when I was a student were Ramseyer Hall (where I took most of my classes), Taylor Tower, Mack Hall, and Bradley-Paterson residence halls.\n\nAt Ohio State, every student can drive their own experience as they engage in the events and resources on-campus while attending classes, getting an on-campus job, landing an internship or full-time job, joining clubs and organizations, attending many free events and activities, and so much more. The many student services offices at Ohio State are always there for students, and it's easy to find your way towards graduation and your future when taking advantage of these resources.\n\nI look forward to seeing what comes next on such a large and lively campus such as Ohio State in the coming years!"

"Ive gone here for a while, and it's been amazing. The amount of inclusion and teaching styles are amazing. However, I did have a couple bad experiences. While I was in elementary here, there used to be a horrible swim coach. Her name was Ms. Moore. She is now retired, but I need to tell others about her. She has caused me a lot of trauma. She was kind of creepy. For added effect, keep in mind, I was 4-9 years old as this happened. The worst part was probably when we were practicing diving. As a child, I had an immense fear of diving. I still do, some caused by this event. I was on the side of the pool, and we were doing some basic dives. As I was about to go in, I covered my nose, but she slapped my hand and told me "You aren't allowed to do that, it's not part of the dive." Then, I was even more freaked out. My brain put me in a fight or flight situation, and all I did was freeze. She told me to "Just dive. You're wasting time." but I didn't. She then shoved me in the pool, and I started choking on water. I'm over here, unable to breathe, and she really says "See, it wasn't that hard." Finally, I cough the water out, and she's still mad at me. "Get out of the pool. You're doing it again." But actually, that was only one part of it. The second part of it was the locker rooms. Here was the routine. We get out of the pool, have to get in a freezing shower in front of everyone else in the locker room, and recite our parents phone number. Then, we go into the main area, and have A SPECIFIC ORDER THAT WE HAVE TO CHANGE, all while she's yelling at us because we're "not changing fast enough." That's not even the worst. As we were changing, she would watch us like a hawk. While we were in the changing room, she had her phone out all the time. I'm 90% sure some pictures were taken. She would also comment on us, like how our skirts were too short, or how we should get new leggings because they "barely fit over our thighs". All while she was screaming at us. Please, put more into your hiring process. Nobody else should have to experience this. Other than her, I loved Academy. The other teachers were great. But Ms. Moore will affect me forever."

"We attended the Hilliard Bradley High School graduation ceremony last night. The ceremony was truly a spectacle, as the school has been hijacked by extreme ideology. Total lack of respect and decorum demonstrated by many parents during presentation of diplomas. Also, one of the graduates displayed a Palestinian flag while accepting his diploma...indicative of the cultural norms and doctrine espoused by this progressive school. We felt anything BUT included in this farce of a ceremony. IMHO there is an abject failure of leadership at this school...atmosphere was miserable to say the least."

If you have graduated high school within the last five years and have never attended another college other than for dual enrollment credit while in high school, you are considered a freshman.
As it turns out, the difference between freshman and freshmen is small and simple to discern. Whereas freshman refers to a single first-year student, freshmen refers to multiple first-year students.
The traditional word for a student in the first year of high school or college is freshman, but that word has had some competition in recent decades: As every freshperson in my own department knows by the end of the first year, the "Little Ice Age" was no such thing.
